Pedagogical Approach

The Latina Ecclesiastica series is built on the conviction that students learn Latin best by reading connected, meaningful texts—not isolated sentences. Each reader is structured around passages from different genres, yet always focusing on one single topic, allowing students to internalize vocabulary, syntax, and stylistic conventions in context.

📖 Authentic Texts

All passages are drawn from authoritative sources—the Nova Vulgata, liturgical books, patristic editions, and mission archives—never simplified or adapted.

⚖️ Graded Difficulty

Volume I, for example, assumes completion of Wheelock Chapters 1–30.

What Each Reader Contains

A short thematic introduction
The complete Latin text passages (medieval spelling is amended to classical)
Vocabulary glosses for words beyond the assumed level
