The 1247 account of the first Franciscan mission to the Mongols, preserved in three manuscript traditions. This is a new digital edition with historical-literal translation and commentary of the shortest of the three and the least known.
Philippus Sibin SJ: Brief an den Kurfürsten von Köln
The early-18th-century Baroque-German letter of the Jesuit Philippus Sibin to the Elector–Archbishop of Cologne, transmitted in Fraktur-print. This project presents a digital critical edition with historical-literal translation and commentary, situating the text within the networks of early modern Catholic diplomacy and missionary strategy. This edition is projected to be finished in mid 2026.
